“It could have been like a fairy tale. But fairy tales aren’t real. Things don’t work like that. There’s a price for everything.” – Maureen Johnson

30 Days of Books

Day 24 – a book you later found out the author lied about

Let me first state two things:

This list is becoming a bit ridiculous.

  1. Prose literature, esp. short stories and novels, about imaginary events and people.
  2. Invention or fabrication as opposed to fact.
If fiction is a story that is not true, one would argue that ALL fiction books are lies. All inventions of the mind. All stories woven with words that hold no truth. If they’re opposed to fact, they’re opposed to truth. Truth is fact. Fiction is essentially a lie. But it’s a lie we’re all willing to believe.
Now what?

If real life were a cartoon, I would be a triangle, which is probably better than being a square.
